GOOD NEWS DIGITAL AUTOMATION SYSTEM

Virtual Cart Machine Page
Six virtual cart machines are available for instant play-back of 'digital carts'. Each cart machine may be loaded with any number of carts from the master library. The cart machine may be set to 'loop' so that carts are played in succession. Any of the six cart machines may be activated by the mouse, or by a remote button box. The cart machines may also be played by automation events, allowing for great versatility.

Digital Recording Page
Digital recording to hard drive is done on this page. Recording may be done in 16 bit stereo or monaural at sample rates of 11.025, 22.050, 32.000 and 44.100 kHz. Hard drive storage capacity is determined by the sample rate, and twice the space is required if the audio is recorded in stereo. As an example, a 6 Gb hard drive can store 13 hours of stereo audio sampled at 32Khz., or 26 hours if sampled as monaural.

Other features include: Live assist page with multiple events, Hot Buttons, Library editing, control of Unity 4000 Satellite Receiver, with time events to initiate program changes to the four audio ports, automatic correction for missed events, log of the previous 500 events, control of Conex 10 channel audio switcher or 6 channel Broadcast Tools audio switcher, control of 24 mechanical relays, decoding of all 16 relay closures on the satellite receiver, and many other features to allow complete automation control of a broadcast station. The Good News Automation system is ideal for a station that receives a large portion of programming via satellite, along with some local programs. (It is not designed for a commercial station with needs for billing, etc.) The soft ware costs $795.00 (U.S.). FREE 15 day test drive. A CD is available for $5, refunded upon purchase of the software. The software works well with a Sound Blaster "LIVE" sound card. The optional I/O card ($84.00) allows reading of a satellite receiver relay closures, and the control of a audio switcher. An additional I/O card may be used to control relays. A simple 'flip/flop' relay may be used for audio switching. (Instructions on how to build one is included with the I/O card.)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your computer monitor must be set to 800 x 600 resolution with small fonts for AUTO to display properly.
